An annual telethon to benefit the Albany, New York-based Center for Disability Services will prominently feature Linde REMEO® respiratory services. Linde operates one of the country’s few pediatric ventilator units at St. Margaret’s Center, a premier nursing facility that is part of the Center for Disability Services’ network.Linde’s innovative REMEO® services consist of turnkey mechanical ventilation solutions for infants, children, young adults and adults at St. Margaret’s – including respiratory therapists, gases and equipment. St. Margaret’s pediatric nurses work side-by-side with Linde respiratory team members to provide highly specialized care, 24 hours a day.The telethon will feature a live feed from the REMEO® ventilation unit at St. Margaret’s. The Linde technology and teams that operate the 18-bed unit will be featured. One Linde spokesperson scheduled for an on-camera interview is Gene Gantt, Linde business development manager for the REMEO® respiratory service.“Together, Linde and St. Margaret’s are accomplishing some wonderful things at this state-of-the-art respiratory unit,” said Gantt. “In some cases, we’re getting kids off ventilators and helping them go home. It will also be a pleasure helping the Center for Disability raise much-needed funds. They do great work.”Because the REMEO® service enables mobility, baby Angelica, who is currently being weaned off a respirator, will join her parents in the television studio during the telethon.St. Margaret’s, which started as a home for abandoned children 127 years ago, provides services to residents with unique physical, mental and emotional needs throughout New York State and beyond. The Center for Disability Services provides services to more than 15,000 individuals - newborns to seniors - at 85 locations throughout 9 counties in Upstate New York.
